The first thing I saw from the kitchen window this morning was two kookaburras.

One flew away before I could grab my camera.

"Kookaburra sits on the old Hills Hoist..."

I can't think of a line to rhyme, can you?

I finally had another 'me' day today so I went to my favourite photo-snapping location...the duck pond.

A flock of hundreds of Little Corellas live there.

Every now and then they take off en masse for a whirl around the park then come back to roost in the trees.

They're very loud, but I just love being in the middle of it when it happens!

Until this lovely white faced heron landed just in front of me!

I heard a kookaburra laughing this morning in the back yard so I quietly crept up to snap it.

And it posed quite nicely for me, don't you think?

Am I the only one with a "kookaburra complex"?

I swear, every time I hear one laughing I think it's laughing at me.

In a stroke of good luck and good timing,

I happened to capture a flock of ibises in flight!
