Pink Carnations

As much as I love flowers, I've never been a big fan of the carnation.
I don't really know why, perhaps I thought of them as the poor man's rose.
These however, I thought were divine.
It's the colour that did it!

Gum Trees

Mum & Dad are coming for a visit today.
They live 3 hours away and don't get here often.
So I'm putting on another farm photo to remind me of home.
This one was taken when we were down for the Easter holidays.

Pink Bud

This one is from our park across the street.
Miss 3 loves to go flower picking, and I love to go flower snapping.

Daisy

What's prettier than a simple little white daisy?
Not much.

Rainy

We woke up to the wettest coldest day on our weekend away.
But we didn't really care.
I'm not an outdoorsy person anyhow.
And it made for a pretty picture through the glass balcony panel!

Gumnut

I took this yesterday.
Can you guess what it is?
It's a gumnut stuck in a park bench and I think it's kinda cute!

Sunset & Clouds

I think I've discovered my favourite things to photograph are flowers and sunsets.

The clouds were stunning at yesterday's sunset.

Freaky Contrails

I took this photo yesterday and there is nothing special about it...other than it's freaky!!
For one we never have more than one contrail at a time across our sky.
And two, they mirror the power lines almost perfectly!
Bizzare!!

Pink Camellia

I think this is my favourite photo to date.
I love flowers...check.
I love pink...check.
I love soft and floaty and flowing...like fabric...check.

Birthday Balloons

Yesterday was my husband's 40th birthday.
We blew up a bag of balloons for him to walk in the door to after work.
Balloons are so pretty!
The kids were calling the office the party room.

Marigolds

I adore flowers, but usually not yellow, orange or red ones...I know I'm flowerist!
So marigolds aren't on my list of favourite flowers.
But how can you not love these?
I took this shot in our local park a couple of months ago.

Sunset

This is Friday's sunset from my front garden.

Orange Trumpets

This vine, the orange trumpet creeper, is growing prolifically on the fence line between our house and our neighbours. We didn't plant it but I do love it. Orange is not one of my favourite colours (it is my 6 year old boy's favourite colour), but it is so spectacular and the little flowers really do look like trumpets.

Brisbane

I took this when we stayed in Brisbane last year for the first time with the kids.
It's my favourite city in the world.

Bromeliad

These flowers are stunning...shame about their leaves which are very ugly!

Gum Trees

Another farm photo.
I just can't get enough of the farm.
And I love this one because of the colours, the gum trees and of course the cows.
It looks like a real Aussie farm to me.

White Flower

I found this gorgeous thing hiding in Mum's garden.
I never know how beautiful flowers are until I take a close up.
I can't see the detail until it's on the screen.

PS I took 109 photos and exhausted my battery before the end of the show. Most of the photos were blurry, it was too dark and they were moving too fast on the ice. This was the last one I got before it died!
