365 Days of Man's Mark on the World - March 2014

At the beginning of 2013 I began a 365 Project called 365 Days In Nature.
This year I'm continuing that one and starting a new one called 365 Days of Man's Mark on the World.
My goal is to take a photo of something man made every day for the whole year.
I've started a Facebook group to share our photos.
If you want to join us, you can find us here... 365 Days of Man's Mark on the World

Day 60 - 1st Mar - Weekend/Weekly Theme: Signs - A sign at Caloundra that we saw last weekend...

Day 61 - 2nd Mar - Fun sign at the Men's Room of a country pub.

Day 62 - 3rd Mar - Sticking with signs...this pretty sign greeted us at Kenilworth yesterday. A pretty sign for a pretty town!

Day 63 - 4th Mar - I liked this sign at the Flame Tree Vineyard at Montville.

Day 64 - 5th Mar - A sign on the highway on the way to our town.

Day 65 - 6th Mar - About this time last year it wasn't so dry, in fact we had 3 floods in 6 weeks! This one turned our River Road into an actual river!!

Day 66 - 7th Mar - The last sign for the theme...my boy peeking through the sign at one of our favourite picnic spots.

Day 67 - 8th Mar - Weekend/Weekly Theme: Nature & High Tech - I was unsure what to do for this theme, until I remembered the robotic dairy and milk processing plant at the family farm. So I'm starting with one of the robots that milk the cows. Yes, there is a cow in there, you can see her legs and the milk in the small tank.

Day 68 - 9th Mar - Nature & High Tech - The factory that they built on the family farm last year to process, bottle and store the milk is pretty high tech!

Day 69 - 10th Mar - Nature & High Tech - It's a back scratcher for cows! Yep, that's all it does. But the cows love it...just a little pampering as a reward for coming to the robots to be milked.

Day 70 - 11th Mar - Nature & High Tech - Sun and silos.

Day 71 - 12th Mar - Nature & High Tech - The massive free-stall barn built on the farm last year with gel mats to keep the cows cool in summer. It was certainly worth it when they had the hottest day on record at 45° in January.

Day 72 - 13th Mar - Nature & High Tech - The calves are even fed robotically on the farm...fully automated!

Day 73 - 14th Mar - Nature & High Tech - The Channel 7 news chopper leaving the farm after filming the Launch Day of 4REAL Milk last June.

Day 74 - 15th Mar - Weekend/Weekly Theme: Tessellation and/or Pattern -  We have two of these on the back wall of our house.

Day 75 - 16th Mar - Tessellation and/or Pattern - They're going to be mostly from around our house and yard this week. Here are some stepping stones/pavers that my husband put down in the backyard.

Day 76 - 17th Mar - Tessellation and/or Pattern - We visited my mother-in-law on the weekend so I won't have to bore you with our backyard all week! This one is her security screen and blind.

Day 77 - 18th Mar - Tessellation and/or Pattern - Roof tiles.

Day 78 - 19th Mar - Tessellation and/or Pattern - A pattern created by who-knows-what on this tree stump beside the pool at my mother-in-law's.

Day 79 - 20th Mar - Tessellation and/or Pattern - Patterns in the pool.

Day 80 - 21st Mar - Tessellation and/or Pattern - The final pattern for the theme is on the ceiling of our church.

Day 81 - 22nd Mar - Weekend/Weekly Theme: Trash & Treasure - I have a friend who's husband started collecting old and rare bottles. Their collection has grown over the years to include many old and interesting things from the past. Someone else's trash is definitely their treasure! Their house and garden look better than our local museum. This week all of my photos will be from Sandy's place. Today's photo is part of the bottles collection.

Day 82 - 23rd Mar - Trash & Treasure - The next piece of treasure from Sandy's house is a door from a gaol that Ned Kelly was locked up in. Sandy is not saying he was behind this actual door...but it was from that era so...maybe....

Day 83 - 24th Mar - Trash & Treasure - Another treasure that was someone else's trash at Sandy's place.

Day 84 - 25th Mar - Trash & Treasure - It's not just bottles at Sandy's place...there's lots of car memorabilia as well.

Day 85 - 26th Mar - Trash & Treasure - More cool old things at Sandy's.

Day 86 - 27th Mar - Trash & Treasure - The keys to the "Ned Kelly" door I posted earlier this week.

Day 87 - 28th Mar - Trash & Treasure - My final photo from Sandy's place is of something close to both of our hearts. Memorabilia of the Royal Family. She was recently given these treasures after a family member passed away. We both took great delight in them!

Day 88 - 29th Mar - Weekend/Weekly Theme: Locomotion - A fun was to get around at The Big Pineapple.

Day 89 - 30th Mar - This is one of the historic trains in our town. I'm hoping to be able to snap the most famous engine today, "The Mary Valley Rattler".

Day 90 - 31st Mar - So after our exciting visit to the local historical train station yesterday I've got loads to show you! Let's start with this one in the old club car. Isn't it gorgeous?!

365 Days In Nature - March 2014

I began taking a nature photo on the 1st of January 2013.
My goal was to take one every day for the whole year.
I achieved that, now I'm back for another year.
I started a Facebook group to share our nature photos.
It has grown to more than 200 members from all around the world.
And it's the best group on Facebook.
No, I'm not at all biased!

Day 60 - 1st Mar - Saturday Theme: In Your Backyard - Very confused mulberries...it is not mulberry season!

Day 61 - 2nd Mar - We just got home from a picnic and short bush walk at Kenilworth. The 750m boardwalk circuit called Fig Tree Walk was just gorgeous.

Day 62 - 3rd Mar - Another one from our walk yesterday near Kenilworth...the creek has almost dried up!

Day 63 - 4th Mar - Still at the Kenilworth walk...not sure what kind of bird this is, but it was very cute hopping around on the forest floor.

Day 64 - 5th Mar - Last one from the Kenilworth walk, a huge fig tree.

Day 65 - 6th Mar - Miss 6 just saw this 'scary thing' on the Christmas...I mean...party lights! Yes, its head was upside down and I'm sure it was saying, "What are you looking at?" Is it a praying mantis, stick insect or something else altogether?

Day 66 - 7th Mar - Pretty Lilly Pilly blossoms.

Day 67 - 8th Mar - Saturday Theme: Spring/Fall Storm - There have been no storms around here for a very long time. So I'm going WAY back into my archives...pre digital and dodgy film camera...to a spring hail storm on the farm that damaged my new car! It was September 1992 and it was the most hail I have ever seen. The poor cows were bleeding!!

Day 68 - 9th Mar - This poor grasshopper on the Frangipani is missing a back leg!

Day 69 - 10th Mar - There's another pretty rose on our little rose bush!

Day 70 - 11th Mar - I noticed this on our way to school this morning...our beautiful bromeliad!

Day 71 - 12th Mar - A window in my lemon tree leaf! Naughty grasshoppers!!

Day 72 - 13th Mar - A new rose soon...yay!

Day 73 - 14th Mar - It's completely the wrong season for Bauhinias. They're supposed to flower in spring...NOT autumn!

Day 74 - 15th Mar - Saturday Theme: Green - Our green Frangipani leaves will all fall off soon.

Day 75 - 16th Mar - It's green, and it's very naughty, eating my rose bush!!

Day 76 - 17th Mar - I don't know what it is about them, but I love photographing banksias.

Day 77 - 18th Mar - After a very hot day yesterday, there was promise of storms. But sadly none came here.

Day 78 - 19th Mar - The cactus is about the only thing in the garden that is doing alright in this dry weather!

Day 79 - 20th Mar - We got a tiny little bit of wet stuff from the sky this morning!! Probably not enough to register though...

Day 80 - 21st Mar - High up in the neighbour's tree, a perfect Frangipani.

Day 81 - 22nd Mar - Saturday Theme: Pink! - My very favourite shade of Hibiscus...or anything really.

Day 82 - 23rd Mar - I'm going to stick with pink this week. I'm sure that comes as a surprise to no one! I saw this gorgeous galah at the dam on the farm last October.

Day 83 - 24th Mar - Sticking with pink...one of my all time favourites...

Day 84 - 25th Mar - Nothing makes me happier than pink clouds!

Day 85 - 26th Mar - A pretty pink flower in our back garden.

Day 86 - 27th Mar - Pink can also be found in nature at the beach...

Day 87 - 28th Mar - My final pink photo and what a week it's been!! Pretty pink Frangipanis...

Day 88 - 29th Mar - Saturday Theme: Family Pets - We don't have any family pets, and my kids are always berating me for it!! So this week I'm going to do a series of one 'family pet' I met at a friend's place. She happens to be the same friend with the 'Trash & Treasure'! What would I do without her? This little pet lives in a box that they made on their back deck. It is not caged and is free to leave, but why would it when it has a safe, cosy home and is fed bananas every day?!

Day 89 - 30th Mar - Next in my series of "Fluffy Butt/Big Bum" is this one...

Day 90 - 31st Mar - Next photo of the Flufster...
