Mushroom

I love the things that pop up in the garden.
And after all the rain we've had, there are loads of these at the moment.
Our front yard is more like a forest at the moment!

Isn't he a fun guy....sorry, couldn't resist! ;)

Fern

This photo was another one taken on our walk to the Kondalilla Falls.
I love ferns in the forest.
This one looks like a heart, don't you think?

View

This was just one of the many gorgeous vistas on the walk to the Kondalilla Falls on Saturday.
I could look at a view like this all day.

Waterfall

This is not 'the' Kondalilla Falls, they're much bigger.
But this was a lovely little waterfall on the walk to the Falls.

Moss on a Rock

I took this on our bushwalk to the Kondalilla Falls yesterday.
I like moss on rocks!
I used the zoom lens on macro setting.

Tiny Pink Flower

This gorgeous little flower just came up out of one of our potted plants.
I'm sure it must be a weed.
But it is still beautiful.
And so teeny tiny.

Egret in Flight

I took this photo last month at the duck pond.
I love birds in flight.

Flying Bug

This photo makes me giggle.
Look what I caught with my zoom lens yesterday.
I was trying to photograph dragonflies but they're way too fast.
This little guy almost got away.
Isn't it cute?

Purple Beach Flower

These gorgeous flowers were growing in the sand, right by the beach.
I used the macro setting on the zoom lens to take this photo.

View from the Carlo Sand Blow

Yesterday's photo was taken from the top of the sand blow looking east.
Today's photo is taken from the same spot, looking west.

Paraglider

Here's another photo from our day at Rainbow Beach.
This one was taken at the top of Marco Sand Blow.

Happy Dog

Yesterday we went for a family picnic to Rainbow Beach.
I took both lenses but only used the new zoom one because I couldn't change on the beach or while we were walking in the bush. I'm really glad I used this lens even though there were times I wish I had the other lens on.

The next few days will be photos from our day out.

I love this photo of the dog with no feet on the ground!
This was one happy puppy, running through the waves, playing with other dogs, Miss 4 was a little scared of it though.

Crepe Myrtle

Yesterday was the bee.
Today it's all about the flower.
Crepe Myrtles are so frilly and pretty.

The Bee

My gorgeous crepe myrtle shrub is absolutely laden with pinky purple blossoms at the moment.
I love them, and so do the bees.

Roosting Lorikeets

I just took this photo.
They've come to roost in the jacaranda across the street.
This is less than 1/2 of them, they' so noisy!!

Grass

Using my new lens again.
I took this photo of wild grass growing in our street...
yes, the council workers must get a little lazy over Christmas!

Old Boot

Yesterday I got a new lens for my Nikon D3100!
It's a Tamron AF 70-300mm tele-macro.
Spoilt? Me?? YES!!
It feels huge and of course I've been out playing with it already.
I went for a walk yesterday afternoon to take photos of flowers in the trees and neighbours' gardens.
But I couldn't resist snapping this...

This boot has been stuck on this tree in a garden in our street for years!

Questions for avid shutterbugs with more than one lens -

How often do you change your lens?
It is difficult?
How do you juggle them?

Cloud Patterns

Today's photo was taken last Friday at the farm.
I was taking photos of the calves from Mum & Dad's backyard when I looked up and saw this.
I love the view from their place!

Happy New Year

This year, for the first time since we moved here 11 years ago, our local council put on a New Year's Eve celebration with fireworks at 9pm in the park very close to where we live.

All I had to do was walk to the end of my back lane...about 60m...and I could snap this...

I know the bottom of the photo has awful movement.
I had my Nikon Coolpix S8000 on the fireworks setting and a tripod would have come in handy!!
But I love the explosions of colour in the centre and top of the photo, so I'm publishing it anyway.
