Mount Clara Smelter - Kilkivan

Today we took a drive to see the chimney from the Mount Clara Copper Smelter near Kilkivan.
It was built in 1873 by Chinese miners and is most impressive.
It's about 14km off the main road along Rossmore Road.
After passing a cemetery, a caravan park, numerous creek crossings and signs on the trees saying, "Trespassers will be shot!", we finally got there.
The poor little Mazda 6 never would have made it but it was a breeze for the Nissan Navara!
