I love watching the equestrian events at the show.
The horses and riders are immaculate.
They're just beautiful.

The Show

The BIG weekend of birthdays and the country show is over.
So this week will be a series of show photos.
Here's the first one....

Serenity

With the crazy busy things going on in my world right now...
this makes me feel.....the serenity now!

I took this as my 7 best college friends and I left the mainland and headed for Stradbroke Island on the ferry last March.

Misty Birds

A misty morning and 5 birds in a tree.

Little Brown Birdie

I have no idea what this little bird is called.
It was sitting in the tree in our front yard last week.
Cute little guy, huh?

African Iris

These are really lovely. And again, this one lives in my mother-in-law's garden!

Pink Rose

Frilly pink roses are my absolute favourite flower.
I found this perfect one in my mother-in-law's garden yesterday.

Swan Family for Father's Day

My Miss 3 wants to visit the duck pond almost every day.
And when I can photograph these...I'm happy to take her.

A protective daddy swan and his family, for Father's Day.
(He came to tell us off for being too close after I took this one.)

Closer

Flowers are beautiful. And the closer you get, the more beautiful they become.

Alyssum

Have you ever seen alyssum?
It a small flowering plant with tiny little flowers.
But look at it up close.
Perfectly beautiful balls of flowers.

Hello Yellow

I took this one a few months ago in my mother-in-law's garden.
She's always surprised where I find the flowers, she didn't know she had so many flowers in her garden.

Moon

There's something special about the moon in the day time.
Don't you think?

Hibiscus

I love these plants because they flower all year round.
Even when all other flowers have withered and died for winter, these blooms keep on smiling.

Cygnets

I took the kids, their scooters and some stale old bread to the duck pond yesterday.
Our duck pond is fabulous, there is a walking track all the way around.
There are always so many different birds.
And there is always a family of ducks.
And a family of swans.
Yesterday we saw for the first time this season, the swans' babies, three cygnets.
They were absolutely adorable.
So cute and fluffy.
The kids and I wanted to pick them up for a cuddle, but if you've ever seen a protective mummy and daddy swan, you would know that is not a good idea!

Bauhinia

You know Spring is just around the corner when these begin to bloom.
They are everywhere right now.
Our back lane is lined with bauhinia trees and we have three in our front garden.
The dead and dying leaves that are still on the tree are so ugly.
But the flowers are so beautiful.

Butterfly

It's not the most colourful butterfly, but it's still pretty.
And thanks to Mr Google, who knows everything, I've discovered it is a Common Crow Butterfly.

Pistils

I love this clever little flower.
Aren't the curls amazing?

Bottle Brush Flower

It's bottle brush season.
This is from our boy's tree and it is about to be covered in them.
When I see these, I almost like red.

Driving

I love country roads lined with gum trees.
I took this as we were driving home from our picnic on the weekend.
Does it feel like the trees are rushing towards you??
