Not a pretty picture today.
This is the hay shed on my family's farm after the fire.
It's the brand new shed, only a few years old.
It housed the round bales.
It was full, around 400 bales.
And practically nothing could be saved.
The burning hay was dragged out of the shed and left outside.
This photo was taken six days later, after two storms and 4 inches of rain.
It was still smouldering!
Oh no! I'm so sorry. I don't know anything at all about farming, but I imagine this has an enormous financial impact, even without the shed. But the shed too!
ReplyDeleteoh gosh :(
ReplyDeleteStill smouldering, my goodness!
ReplyDeleteOh no! As if farmers need any extra costs to daily living. Hopefully it was contained and no one or anything else was damaged. xox
ReplyDeleteOh what a shocker, fire is such a destructive beast. So sorry to hear about this Thea :o( xo
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this has happened to your family. Fire is the one thing I fear. Sending blessings your way.
ReplyDeleteAlways Wendy
Thank everyone!
ReplyDeleteLibby - Yes, it was contained. There were 5 fire trucks, ambulance, police. It was a big deal! No one or nothing else was harmed, though. Thankfully.
