Rainbow Lorikeet

I have put a couple of photos on of rainbow lorikeets already.
But you can never have too many of these gorgeous little guys, can you?
I was very fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to catch this one yesterday.
I had just been walking around the block at my mother-in-law's to snap flowers and this little birdie flew into the tree right above my head as I was about to walk in the back gate.
I had my two cameras with me, of course, so I quickly grabbed the Nikon S8000, zoomed as far a I could, and captured this just before it flew off.

  1. He's beautiful! These guys just fly around wild?

  2. Great picture, around here (Spencer gulf, South Australia) we have the Port Lincoln Parrot and the Ring Neck and I'm always trying to get a good picture of them. I know haw hard it is to get that perfect pic... (jealous)

  3. Awww he is so cute Thea and what a fabulous, clear shot. I always struggle to photograph birds, just don't have enough zoom on my little camera xo

  4. These are beautiful and amazing little birds Thea, and how fortunate you are to be able to photograph them. I love this one. It looks like he is watching you!

Thank you so much for sharing this at The Creative Exchange.

    Have a wonderful day!

  5. Fancy these beauties just flying about. Such colours. Are they noisy?

  6. Just a sweet little juvenile.
    You captured him so well.

Greetings from Blue Mountains NSW. :))
