365 Days In Nature - January 2015

I began taking a nature photo on the 1st of January 2013.

My goal was to take one every day for the whole year.

I achieved that, now I'm back for another year.

I started a Facebook group to share our nature photos.

It has grown to more than 200 members from all around the world.

And it's the best group on Facebook.

No, I'm not at all biased!

Day 1 - 1st January ~ Faces in nature: Crucifix Orchids always make me laugh, they look like little Simpsons characters.

Day 2 - 2nd January ~ Faces in nature: "Hello"

Day 3 - 3rd January ~ Shells: Some shells relocated from the beach, they're now living in our garden pots.

Day 4 - 4th January ~ Shells: You've seen them before (courtesy of Marilyn) but here are some more. Oysters in their shells. Because if you love them, you LOVE them!

Day 5 - 5th January ~ Shells: Some amazing shells from my mother-in-law's collection.

Day 6 - 6th January ~ Shells: We don't see them very often here, a snail shell in the garden.

Day 7 - 7th January ~ Shells: A strange little creature lurking in a shell.

Day 8 - 8th January ~ Shells: Piggy back shells!!

Day 9 - 9th January ~ Shells: I love the little soldier crabs' bright blue shells.

Day 10 - 10th January ~ Fruit & Nuts: We love having a mulberry tree!

Day 11 - 11th January ~ Fruit & Nuts: Home grown tomatoes are the best!

Day 12 - 12th January ~ Fruit & Nuts: Mandarin anyone?

Day 13 - 13th January (Fruit & Nuts) ~ Snack time...

Day 14 - 14th January (Fruit & Nuts) ~ A gum nut.

Day 15 - 15th January (Fruit & Nuts) ~ I went mango picking in my backyard yesterday! YUM!!

Day 16 - 16th January (Fruit & Nuts) ~ I couldn't eat avocado for years and years...but now I'm back enjoying it!

Day 17 - 17th January (Wings) ~ A cattle egret coming in for landing.

Day 18 - 18th January (Wings) ~ Angel wings in the sky?

Day 19 - 19th January (Wings) ~ Amazing dragonfly wings.

Day 20 - 20th January (Wings) ~ A pretty butterfly's wings...

Day 21 - 21st January (Wings) ~ A seagull's wings...

Day 22 - 22nd January (Wings) ~ I always hear them but never see them...until I spotted this one on the forest floor during a bush walk. I love the patterns on this cicada's wings.

Day 23 - 23rd January (Wings) ~ I think this is my favourite...lots of Little Corella's wings flying overhead.

Day 24 - 24th January (Favourite Food) ~ I have to start with my very favourite...oysters!

Day 25 - 25th January (Favourite Food) ~ Cheese please!!! Can never have enough.

Day 26 - 26th January (Favourite Food) ~ Corn on the barbie! Happy Australia Day!

Day 27 - 27th January (Favourite Food) ~ I love fish! And this salmon with pesto herb crust was particularly delicious!!

Day 28 - 28th January (Favourite Food) ~ SUSHI! Love love love it!!

Day 29 - 29th January (Favourite Food) ~ Prawns the way my husband cooks them...spicy on the barbecue!

Day 30 - 30th January (Favourite Food) ~ My favourite lunch food in summer...salads!

Day 31 - 31st January (Liquid) ~ A lovely liquid waterfall.

Monday 26: Three things - Sun, surf & sand! Happy Australia Day!!

Tuesday 27: Morning - This one is an oldie, but I miss the morning sunrise on the farm.

Wednesday 28: Strange - This strange thing popped up in the backyard a few days ago. Mr Google tells me it's a Stinkhorn Fungus and apparently it smells like fresh doggy doodoo but I wasn't putting my nose anywhere near that thing to find out!

Thursday 29: Summer/Winter - Everyone loves to do this in Summer...everyone but me! I hate hot sand, being in the Summer sun and wearing swimwear!! The only time I like going to the beach is in Winter...the Queensland winter that is, which isn't really winter at all!

Friday 30: Fave food - For me they're the ultimate indulgence. Love love LOVE oysters!

Saturday 31: On top - Here we are...on top of Mt Coolum. My husband loves climbing mountains...me, not so much!

Sunday 1: On my plate - Breakfast! Good morning :D

365 Days of Man's Mark on the World - January 2015

At the beginning of 2013 I began a 365 Project called 365 Days In Nature.

This year I'm continuing that one and starting a new one called 365 Days of Man's Mark on the World.

My goal is to take a photo of something man made every day for the whole year.

Day 1 1st January - Shop Windows - I love this Santa in a shop window.

Day 2 2nd January - Shop Windows - My final Christmassy shop window.

Day 3 3rd January - Cityscapes - It's a very old one, but 12 years today we were here...Rome!

Day 4 4th January - Cityscapes - Yesterday's photo was from the top, here's one from ground level...The Vatican City.

Day 5 5th January - Cityscapes - From Rome to Paris...taken from the top of the Arc de Triomphe.

Day 6 6th January - Cityscapes - Rome...Paris...London! And no we didn't go on it, my husband hates heights!

Day 7 7th January - Cityscapes - The last one from afar...then I'll move back closer to home...Munich, or Munchen as they say.

Day 8 8th January - Cityscapes - Not perfect, but this is my best night time cityscape of Surfers Paradise.

Day 9 9th January - Cityscapes - My favourite city in the world...beautiful Brisbane!

Day 10 10th January - Planes, Trains & Automobiles - Some old planes at the Queensland Air Museum at Caloundra.

Day 11 11th January - Planes, Trains & Automobiles - The gorgeous old dining car at our local historic train station.

Day 12 12th January - Planes, Trains & Automobiles - Lovely old automobiles.

Day 13 13th January (Planes, Trains & Automobiles) - Taking off from Coolangatta.

Day 14 14th January - Planes, Trains & Automobiles - They call this one "The Silver Bullet", you can probably see why.

Day 15 15th January - Planes, Trains & Automobiles - A lovely old red automobile.

Day 16 16th January - Planes, Trains & Automobiles - An old train at our local historic train station that used to be Brisbane city buses.

Day 17 17th January - Shapes - Triangles on the Dickabram Bridge.

Day 18 18th January - Shapes - A circle on Miss 7's guitar.

Day 19 19th January - Shapes - Lots and lots of squares!! The Australian Open begins today....YAY!!

Day 20 20th January - Shapes - An arched window at our church. It reminds me of always picking the arched window on Play School!

Day 21 21st January - Shapes - Shapes on the back wall of our house.

Day 22 22nd January - Shapes - Diamond shapes in our screen door.

Day 23 23rd January - Shapes - Lots of cookie cutter shapes.

Day 24 24th January - Anything with a theme - This week's theme could be interpreted many ways. I'm choosing my own theme for the week and the theme is "Show Time!" What's the show without sideshow alley and the clowns?

Day 25 25th January - Anything with a theme (Show Time!) - Still at sideshow alley...

Day 26 26th January - Anything with a theme (Show Time!) - Lots of prizes for lots of different things at the show.

Day 27 27th January - Anything with a theme (Show Time!) - I always love the baby animals at the show.

Day 28 28th January - Anything with a theme (Show Time!) - The face of the show, "Miss Beaudesert Show"!

Day 29 29th January - Anything with a theme (Show Time!) - I wouldn't be the Beaudesert Show without the Beaut Ute Parade.

Day 30 30th January - Anything with a theme (Show Time!) - How to end the Show Time week? With fireworks of course!

Day 31 31st January - Plush/Stuffed Animals/Teddy Bears - When I saw this cute little pink koala at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary I just had to have it!
