But did you know the bright colourful part is not the flower?
The flower is tiny and white in the centre. The coloured bits around it are called bracts.

I had no idea Thea, what a great fact! Bougainvilleas are gorgeous, but they are so tricky with those nasty thorns. Who would have thought something so beautiful could be so precarious!? Another stunning photo :o)
